What is the Beat the Blight Campaign? This campaign was started by Clinton Hill residents as a way of cleaning up and beautifying blighted areas of the neighborhood. The campaign is overseen by a team of residents and community partners who meet regularly to identify blighted areas, make decisions to steer the direction of the campaign, and provide feedback on the project as the work progresses.
The objectives for the Beat the Blight Campaign include:
Engaging residents to identify blighted properties and work with Code Enforcement to pressure property owners to clean them up, secure them, and get them into active use
Targeting properties for the Beat the Blight Campaign that are in high crime areas or on the route where children walk to school
Recruiting and overseeing a team of residents who will be hired by Clinton Hill Community Action as Blight Busters to clean up the blight in the neighborhood
